Scott. Miss G. Melvin and several members of the classes of “The Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Art.” Mr. Scott, assisted by Miss Gross, Mr. Hughes and Mr. Fisher, students of the school, were watched with keen interest by the pupils and staff of Coqualeetza as they made sketches from life of some of the girls and boys. Miss Melvin described the process of making a piece of clay pottery while Miss Parker gave a practical demonstration. Miss Cokely was engaged in daintily decorating a box in colours. Ine method used in making parchment copies of various forms of lettering was cleverly illustrated by Miss Handley. A very pleasurable evening was spent by all and some of our pupils have been encour- aged to emulate the work of our visitors along the line of making life portraits. Visitors Rey. |. K. Mrs. Rogers had not visited the School for thirty years but manifested much pleasure at what she saw. Coqualeetza Chapel Fund Eighteen years ago, the sum of 52.50 conscience money was received by the Principal to be applied to some object for the benefit of the School. As there had been felt the need of a Chapel, Principal Raley opened a Savings Account in the Bank of Toronto, Vancouver, No. 2245, for that purpose, with an objective of $10,000.00 The fund now stands at $1,620.00. We urgently appeal to the Alumni Associations to make this cause an objective. Nineteen
