The Carnival was bigger and better than any of the previous three, reflecting the progress of the skaters as they become more experienced. Once again, our pro, Lorraine did a tremendous job, especially since she had only five weeks from when she took over as instructor until show-time. From start to finish, the show took us through time, using the medium of dance and music. Whether it was Tchaikovsky's “Swan Lake” Judy Garland’s “Over The Rainbow” or the present day “Boogie Woogie Dancing Shoes”, the skaters interpretation of the music was excellent — build- ing up to a great ‘Space Age’”’ finale. As usual, the costumes and props were terrific — there must be alot of talented moms and students around town. It was especially nice to see some of the older boys participating. — there’s obviously a great deal of untapped talent around — maybe Paul and Jason will inspire more boys to join next season. The Blue Valley Figure Skating Club would like to extend a-huge “thank you” to everyone who helped to make the carnival and the figure skating season so successful. The season officially closed for the skaters with a badge presentation on April 13. The list of badges earned was published in the January issue of the Courier, with the exception of one — Andrea Borden passed her Beginners badge. Hot dogs, chili burgers, ice cream and juice were pro- vided for the skaters after the presentations. Congratulations to all the skaters who worked so hard this past season. While the actual skating is over — fund raising continues. The bingos still take place the 3rd Wednesday of each month. On Saturday, May 7 we will be holding our Annual Mother’s Day Flower Sale in the parking lot outside of the Post Office. We’re sure lots of moms would ap- preciate some flowers on their special day. At the last general meeting a new executive was elected for the 1983-84 season — Past-president — Judy Walker President — Diane Zebroff Vice President — Bev Storie Secretary — Eileen Millar Treasurer — Carol Deyo National Test Chairperson — Judy Price Directors — Kathleen King and Karen Hawker A UNIQUE VERSION OF THE CAN-CAN , _ ee FIGURE SKATING COUNTRY STYLE A CASSIAR FIRST LITTLE PUNK ROCKERS STOLE THE SHOW CASSIAR’S BIG FEET THE GRAND FINALE IN THE MOOD NIGHT FL a IGHT TO VENUS —Schmoo Daze Funnies “OUR VERY OWN NUREYEV!
