This the bandit took, and marched Calladine downstairs, and into the basement where he pulled the phone fuses from the box. About that time the thought must have occurred to him to search his victim. which he promptly did, and Calladine was re- lieved of two rolls of bills from his hip pockets. Dire Threats On returning to the beer parlor, Calladine noticed the other two thugs crouched over Mrs. Calladine and Flynn. A few hundred feet from the hotel the two let go of his arms and hastened ahead around a bend in the road. The third man stuck his gun in the hotel man’s back and ordered him to halt. As they stood there, Calladine heard the engine of a car start, and after telling him not to move, the leader ran ahead out of sight in the darkness.
