This year has been our first as a fully operational resource center, and we now have -five hired ‘staff members: a P!IRG — Coordinator; Composting Coordinator; Hazardous Waste Assement; and two Regional Campuses Coordinators. The Regional Campus Coordinators are dedicated to finding out how P!RG can liase with and assist the regional campuses. We have put together a newsletter that is being circulated at the regional campuses, and we are hoping this will help us to get input and liasons from the UNBC student body. In response to some concern from the regions, we are going to discuss a name change at the AGM. Hence, PGPIRG may be callded something like NPIRG (Northern PIRG) to avoid any sense of PG centerism! Communication with the P.G. office and the regions is very important to us, and so is communication between regions. We are hoping to act as liasons between all UNBC campuses. If you have any information of ideas you ‘would like to share with other UNBC students please send us your submissions and we will put them in the next P!RG newsletter. Your submissions can be anything from an article about a social or environmental issue in your community to questions or suggestions you may have about increasing communication between the regions. We would really love to hear from you!!!! Students at the regional campuses can access the P!RG AGM via _ email, teleconferencing, fax and regular mail.
