Trones of the U.S. Customs Patrol took this match with a score of 87, Jake Young of the B.C. Police in second place with 85, and Dick True- blood of Seattle, third, with 85. A popular feature of each mid-summer tournament at Victoria is the long range match, ten shots at 100 yards. This year Walter Bailey of the B. C. Police beat out 59 entrants for top place with a score of 77. Dick Trueblood’s’ 73 gave him sec- ond place, and W. Summerveldt of Port- land, Ore., was third with a score of 68. Bailey’s score equalled the record for this course. This ended the shooting for the first day. First event on July 2nd, was the Open Team match. B. C. Police No. 1 team took this with 1300 for the five-man crew, Seattle Police in second bracket with 1279, closely followed by Capitol Pistol Club of Seattle, 1274. Nine teams competed. This is the second year that a B. C. Police team has won the open, and the sixth consecu- tive year they have won the B. C. Cham- pionship. In the .38 National Match Course, in- dividual (open), Cliff Smith of Seattle topped the fifty entrans with 285, and his fellow citizens, Dick Trueblood and R. M.
