CASSTAR CURLING CLUB NEWS

The 17th Annual Bonsniel will
be held Fehruarv 4 - 7,}97]. Entry
fee is $29.9) per team and evervone is
is eligible to enter. Teams mav he
entered on the Bonspiel Shee t in the
Club Lounge. ,

The Club now has over 159 en-
thusiastic members and we have just
finished the first draw. Winner of
this event was John Forbes' team and
runner-up team vas skinned hv Archte
Onisimchuk.

The ladies of the Casstar Curl-
ing Club have formed an afternoon
league and everv Wednesday eight
teams compete. Thev will he resum-
ine play again on Januarv 13.

advises that there will he a Soctal
on Januarv 39 to give all the Ron-
sptel teams a chance to mractise.
The Socials this vear have heen well
attended and enioved hv all.

INSTANT BUNKHOUSES

The portahle hunkhouses recent-
ly set up at the corner of the Lane
and Malazemoff Avenue are to house
the enlarged Cape Construction crew
until the mill addition is finished.
Following miJl completion, they will
be used as temporary quarters for
our crews during the refurbishing
of the existing bunkhouses and the
conversion of rooms to single occ-
upancy.

Ski Club News

Due to poor snow conditions on the
upper part of the hill. two Yukon
Division races have had to he can-
celled. We are hopine that we mav
get a race run in Februarv or March.

Skiing is good on the Lower vart of
the hill and ski instruction plus
small local races wil! he held on
the week-end, weather permitting.
Fecreational skiing is egoine on as
usual.

Red Garter Saloon" is starting up
again. T would ask all neonle who
were involved in the plav to he
readv to attend rehearsals in the
hopes of staging the show in mid-
Fehruarv.

Ski club fees are due now.

$15.99 - Senior single memhership
$19.90 - Junior single membership

Season tow tickets will he given to
all paved up members. Anv skiter
who has not paved the Club fees,
loses the use of the club tow, until
the fees are naved.

Last week-end (Januarv 9,19,11)
an incident occurred in which two
Cassiar emplovees could have lost
their lives.

Thev were stranded on the Dease
Lake Road from Saturday a.m. until
Monday, at temperatures well over the
-35 below zero mark.

Fortunately for all concerned
neople, the storv had a hapnv ending.

In light of this, the following
