The Cassiar Lions also wish to thank all of those that contributed clothes and cash to the Skubovius family on October 13, 1973 after the fire which destroyed their house trailer at Dease Lake. On October 17 Lion Dave McClellan held a meeting of the parents of the Cassiar Cubs. The first Cub meeting will be held in the School at 5:45 p.m. on October 25, 1973. The parents must accompany their son to be regis- tered into the Cassiar Cubs. If you don't make the first meeting there will be a meet- ing each Thursday at 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bingo's are being held every second Thursday in the Recreation Hall. They have all been — cash bingo's so far, but there will be changes made from time to time. Your sug- gestions are always welcome. Lion Fred Neilson, Postmaster, is Chairman of the Lion's Bingo. A Lion's Social was held October 20 in the Curling Rink Lounge to initiate 5 new member: into the Cassiar Lions. We now have 44 mem- bers, one of the largest Lion's Clubs in the A9th district. Cassiar Lion's Auction Sales will start again on November 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Recreation Hall. Any item you don't use and would like to sell, we will sell it for you. Phone any Lion's member to pick up your art- icles: Don't forget to set out your beer bottles each Saturday. The Lion's will collect them. This project pays for Cubs & Scouts, PeeWee Hockey and baseball and many other activi- ties for the children of Cassiar.. Brownies... The First Cassiar Brownie Pack started during the second week in September. They have managed to have one meeting in the form of a Nature Observation Walk outside. Since then, and because winter is upon us, they are concentrating on Handicraft work- shops and were also involved in the Talent Show. The Brownies meet in the basement of the Catholic Church every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. All girls between the ages of seven and ten are welcome to join. Your Pets... Over the past years there have been many notices cinculated requesting residents of Cassiar to keep their pets confined to the yards on on a Lease. In many cases these notices have been dgnorned. Cassiar Town Council have recentky built a new rnegula- tion dog pound and have employed a dog catcher to enforce the nukes.
