As always in Cassiar, every- thing seemed to happen on the same night. The Ladies of our community threw the first rock on Saturday, February 2lst to kick off the Ladies’ Annual Bonspiel in curling. At this ungodly hour of the morning, for a Saturday any- way, sixteen of the fair sex, gathered at the rink to see who would walk off with the prizes. With Mr. Tomashewski and Mr. White doing the honours to start off, Mr. Borsato, Mr. Munro, John Forbes and a couple of little helpers joined in later to take care of the coffee and snackbar. They did a very good job as all the women can testify to. Eight games were plaved on this day and at the end of the last game, a banquet was held. From there every- body took off for the opening of the ‘Trophy Room’. As mentioned before, Cassiar seemed to have everything going on the same night, so they decided it would be a good idea, and also "Kill four birds with one stone", to visit all the doings. So onto the Ski Party they went, from there thev then went to give Mr. Onisimchuk a warm welcome at the Bank. From here distant ringing was heard far into the night and male voices were anxiously enquiring "Is my wife there?" So ended the Ladies night on the town, a very good one too. Let's hope there'll be many others to come.
