Prime Minister Jean
Chretien announced today
that the Federal Government
is opposed to raising the GST
to help fund HealthCare. The
Prime Minister said he would
be able to find an extra $5 bil-
lion a year, recommended by
the Special Senate Committee
on the State of HealthCare.
One place Chretien names as
a starter is to cut the $5 billion

The UN Security Council
has unanimously voted in
favor of a new resolution that
would force Iraq to allow
weapons inspectors into the
country. However, it was not
just up to Saddam to accept
the resolution, it was up to
Iraq’s Parliament...whether or
not they wanted to be
killed...by Saddam. The leg-
islative body voted Tuesday to
pass the following items:
Rejecting the UN resolution,
authorizing President Saddam
Hussein to adopt what he
sees as appropriate and nec-
essary measures, expressing
full support for President
Saddam Hussein’s wise lead-
ership and walking out of here
today with our hands still
attached to our wrists.
