The Choir The Choir E CHOIR has worked along faithfully and well through the year, meeting every Friday evening with Mr. Bartindale, the Choirmaster, to practise hymns and prepare an anthem for the Sunday evening service. There are about twenty-three members, including the accompanists, Mrs, Raley, piano, and Clarence Wesley and Robert Hughes, violins. They present a very fine, dignified appearance this year, in their new gowns, which were inade for them in the manufacturing room by the Sewing Class, under the supervision of Mrs. Sainsbury. While most of the meetings of the Choir have been devoted to study and practice, they have had several very pleasant social evenings at the Principal’s residence, when music, games and refreshments have been enjoyed. The Afternoon Tea, given by the Choir in the Assembly Hall on St. Patrick’s Day, was a function which was enjoyed by all, and which, in addition, brought the Choir in $60.41, which was used towards paying for the material for their gowns. The Orch estra FEF COQUALEETZA ORCHESTRA, though a little smaller than last year, has nevertheless continued to give a good account of itself. Early in the year its members had a successful Afternoon Tea, in order to raise funds to meet the expenses of the year. The Orchestra has enhanced our enjoy- ment of many of our school functions, and it has generously added zest to all our fortnightly picture shows by its musical contributions. It has also fulfilled a number of outside engagements,—for example, it supplied the music between acts when the Sardis Dramatic Society presented “Her Step Husband” in the Community Hall last spring. Coqualeetza feels indebted to Miss D. Milson, who founded our orchestra three years ago and who has since acted as its Conductor, keeping alive a keen interest by her own active enthusiasm and contagious ambition.
