(This means that all students automatically be- come members by paying a $4 or $2 membership fee with their tu- ition. Any students who do not support the work of PIRG can ob- tain a refund of their membership fee by simply dropping by our of- fice during office hours.) Our mandate is to promote research, education, and ACTION on issues of social justice and the environment, and to empower stu- dents to become active citizens in their communities. To these ends, we run an alternative resource cen- ter in room 7-234a, where you can find unique books and magazines, hook up with other people inter- ested in the same issues that you are, and an ever so knowledgeable and friendly staff who will support you work in any way that we can!
