NEW EMPLOYEES Employees engaged in Edmonton or Vancouver, travel to Watson Lake by Canadian Pacific Airlines and they are met by company transport at the Airport. They travel into Cassiar the same day and are met at the cookery by the Camp Steward. They are allocated their accommodation by the Camp Steward and advised at what time they are expected to report in the morning. The following day employees sign on at the Time Of- fice, receive clearance from the company doctor, and are interviewed by the Personnel Director. They will be handed over to their departmental heads in the afternoon, and will commence work the next day or shift designated by their foreman. ACCOMMODATION On arrivel in camp you will be allocated quarters in one of the bunkhouses by the camp steward, who is lo- cated in Bunkhouse No. 146, Room 1. No change of quarters is permitted except by order of the Camp Manager. The transfer of employees from the summer bunk- houses to the permanent bunkhouses is based strictly on seniority. The right of exception to this procedure is re- served to management. Remember that your quarters are your home, and while the rooms are cleaned every day by the bull-cooks, it is only with your co-operation that we can keep your rooms in a clean and hygienic state. Adequate locker space is provided for trunks and suitcases. Do not leave them underneath thebeds. : Ladies are not allowed in the bunkhouse and anyone contravening this regulation is liable to dismissal. Locks on room doors are forbidden. Objectionable noise such as loud talking or noisy radios are prohibited at all times. Remember that some of your fellow workers may be sleeping. It is prohibited to keep dogs in bunkhouses. Bunkhouses are inspectted at regular intervals, but any repairs necessary should be reported immediately to the bull-cook. Disorderly conduct or wilful damage to bunkhouses will not be tolerated.
