school Mwnv4 CASSIAR ELEMENTARY JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL. As most readers are aware, the school was enlarged during the past summer. The addition consists of two classrooms and an extension of the previously existing gym. The gym now has a regulation- size basketball court and full shower and change room facilities. As a result of the additional classrooms it has been possible to expand the secondary program. One of the rooms serves as a Home Ec- onomics Lab. The other room is used as a regular classroom, replacing the basement room previously used. The basement is now being used as a shop for Industrial Education. Although none of the above rooms are fully equipped at present, much of the necessary equipment is on order and the new areas should be in full operation before Christmas. The Home Economic girls (taught by Mrs. Marie Clark) are presently taking sewing - the school received its six Bernina machines about 2 weeks ago and from the hid.. ° should start on cooking shortly after Christmas. The Industrial Arts boys (taught by Mr. Pat Hickman) are presently studying drafting. They should Grade 3.
