OVER THE EDGE October 10-24, 2007 13 Meow Records Launches First Annual Calendar TYLER CLARKE PropuctTion COORDINATOR Local hotties from around Prince George are to be featured in a calendar, a concept Meow Records owner Bryndis Ogmundson came up with a while ago. “T thought it would be fun, and I have a lot of hot friends,” Ogmundson said. These hot friends are from Prince George, many of which are commonly seen around the local musical community. Much to the dismay of some, this isn’t a nudie calendar. This is the first of many yearly calendars Ogmundson hopes to make. This first calendar has a theme of the girls’ favourite band and album, which includes a short quote from the girl about why the chose the album. Each month will vary with regards to the page’s artistic merit, as every girl has their own unique personality. The calendars will be launched October 12 at Artspace, the venue above Books and Company on Third Avenue, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event will have wine and cheese available, and two members of local band Versus, Shae and Dennis, provid- ing DJ’d music. Although you don’t have to go to the calendar launch to get a calendar, the $25 voucher purchased at Meow Records on Brunswick Street between Third and Fourth Avenue will both guarantee the owner a calendar, and allow them to attend the cal- endar launch. This, Ogmundson said, is the cheapest way to go about it. After the launch calendars will cost $24.99 plus tax. Admission to the calendar launch without the purchase of a voucher is $5. “T anticipate maybe 80 people, but there might be a lot more than that,” Ogmund- son said. The calendars were printed in the UNBC copy centre, with only 200 produced. “Tt’ll be a collector’s item,” Ogmundson warned. Meow Records is one of few interesting Prince George music stores. It sells both new and used CDs and records from mainstream and independent artists. CDs re- corded by local artists are often at Meow Records. © ROGERS VIDEO © rocers @ © ROGERS” authorized dealer Offers subject to change at any time without notice.
