NOTICE Attention all “Ski Doo” owners: — As you are aware, ‘Ski Doo’s’ or snow machines come under the Motor Vehicle Act as far as licensing and regulations are concerned. This means that to operate one the driver must have a driver's license as well as insurance if he is under 21. The ‘Ski Doo’ must also have a current license plate before it can be operated. Any violations of the above will result in charges under the Motor Vehicle Act. It will be located in the basement of the Catholic Church. Tentatively, the display will be open to the public every afternoon and three evenings per week. Definite hours will be posted prior to the opening. He He He HH HH DANCE On Saturday, November 18th, the Cassiar Lions Club will sponsor a benefit ball on behalf of the Boy Scouts of our community. Tickets are $10.00 per couple or $6.00 single, including dinner. Music will be provided by the Watson Lake orchestra. * ee HHH HH RAYBESTOS-MANHATTAN COMMUNITY AWARD At the first annual Fireman’s Ball held on October 14th, Mr. Aldo (Kinky) Borsato was presented with the Raybestos-Manhattan Community Award, which is given yearly to the individual who is con- sidered to have made substantial contribution to community living. The plaque presented to Mr. Borsato outlined his contributions as follows: — President of the Cassiar Community Club for a second time and an active supporter of community affairs. — Active and competent in mine rescue and industrial first aid training. — Past instructor for St. John’s Ambulance courses. — Presently instructor of Junior St. John’s Ambulance course for members of the Cassiar Boy Scouts. — Captain (now Deputy Fire Chief) and Instructor in the Cassiar Volunteer Fire Brigade. — Member of Cassiar Curling Club and a keen ( competitor in the sport. — An active outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. Interested in the general conservation of wildlife. Our congratulations to Mr. Borsato. He is a worthy recipient of this award.
