These days not even germs can live on it. ee He eH HH HH HK CURLING NEWS Pick your teams and start practising! The 15th Annual Cassiar Bonspiel is being held this year on February 27th and 28th, and f March 1st and 2nd. Sixteen outside rinks will be required. An entry fee of $20 per rink will be charged. ? Several out of town bonspiels will be held throughout the area during the next couple of weeks. These are advertised on the Curling Rink notice board. ee ee He He HEH HH In the first curling event of the year, completed just before Christmas, Egil Eriksen and his team of Bob Clark, Pete Brosseau and Cynthia Scholten captured first place. The Art McAndrew rink placed second. The trophies played for were the Ambassador and the AIM. The first Curling Social was held December 8th and was very successful in attracting new members and recalling the old. Membership now stands at 125 — 130. REMEMBER, you must be a paid member to curl in the bonspiel. H# e* eRe HH HE HH HOCKEY NEWS Practices for Minor and Senior teams were carried on diligently during recent cold weather. These practices were well attended especially by the minor leaguers. The senior * teams have again been divided into the Wolves and Rattrays for home games, and combine in the Asbestos Kings uniforms for visiting team games. The first Senior game of the season was played on January 26th against Watson Lake. The Minor League consists of two Pee Wee and two Bantam teams. Their home game schedule will be started as soon as weather allows. Their visiting teams games will coincide with the senior visiting team games. He RH HH HHH HK
