BAILEY A very busy year has passed happily away in this Department, where many tons of potatoes and other vegetables, meats, fish and fruits have been prepared and cooked. Besides this, bread, cakes, puddings and pies have been made and many gallons of jams, pickles and fruits have been canned. ° Those worthy of special mention are Eva Dick, Phyllis Parker, Rose Hill, May Marks and Myrtle Angus. Marked improvement was shown by Lizzie Wood, Vera Moffat, Helen Douglas and Martha Billy. Bakery ' MISS V. BAIEBY In this Department many tons of flour have been made into thousands of loaves of bread. This has all been done by the boys very well and very willingly. Those for special! mention are: Allan Young, Cyril Parnell, Fraser Joseph, Wilham Kelly, Dan Gonu, and Vernon Jones. Dining Room MISS J. NEWINGTON The girls have displayed great neatness and efficiency in the department this year. There has also been a very marked improvement in the deportment of the students generally. The parties and Christmas activities passed off very smoothly, with everyone helping cheerfully and so added very little to the usual routine work. Great credit is due to the girls who waited on the staff dining-room. They were punctual and willing, probably the two most important factors in such a busy place as Coqualeetza. For all round thoroughness Eva Dick and Helen Douglas deserve special mention. Laundry MISS M. B. NICKLIN It is rather difficult to write of the laundry department interestingly. We are ending another busy school year, and the girls have done splendid work and taken a great deal of pride in it all—especially in the ironing. The electric machinery is all in good order and is running well. The majority of the clothes are washed in the machines and they number thousands of garments weekly. Special mention should be made of Mary White, Eva Dick, Phyllis Parker, Dolly Dick, Marjorie Wilson and Martha Billy. Infirmary MISS E. LENAGHAN, R.N. _- MISS A.
