While the area is popularly known as Chain Lakes because of its conformation, the lake ard park are officially designat as "Boya Lake", and from information avail able, the name Boya Lake came about in the Tollewing way s= in February, 1954, the Geographic Branch requested the late Harper Reed and the local Indian Avemt to supply names of Indian trappers in the Lower Post area in the 1930*s.
