"Morbid Midnight Rapture"

Tonight is the night.

Tonight is the night for my unbridled rage
To take hold and complete
My mission.

The breeze blows silently.
The moon is full.
The lone figure does not sense my presence.

The silver of the blade and the

Green of the emerald glint in the
Moonlight that streams through the window.

How many times have | wanted to do this?
How many times have | wanted to spill
blood??

It happens so quickly but

Yet the feeling is savoured.

| walk out, cleaning the blade on his
Too-perfect hair.
And a slow cackle escapes my lips.

The knife is then stowed in the
Sheath in my right boot.

| escape into the night, thinking about

My next victim, who is oblivious
To their demise.

Johnny Action Figure: Rock and Roll at the Metro

Victoria’s Johnny Action
Figure recently made an
appearance at the Metro
Nightclub in Prince George.

’ They made such a good

impression on the audience
that they were held over for a
second show on February 9.
With their incredible stage
presence and_ distinctive
sound, it is easy to see why
people would want to see
them more than once.

The four members of Johnny
Action Figure started out two

years ago, while they were
members of various different

bands in the Victoria area. .

What started out as a side
project quickly became a
force to be reckoned with, as
a recent show in Vancouver
sparked the interest of
Nettwerk. The band was
recently found recording their
first CD release at Rockettfish
Studios in Prince George,
which should be released
some time before next
Christmas.

Johnny Action Figure deliv-
ered an action-packed perfor-
mance, and played a wide
range of music, including cov-
ers of Weezer, Radiohead,
Chemical Brothers, Soft Cell,
and some original material.
Great sound combined with

audience participation was

the key to the show’s suc-
cess, and the band seemed
to have as much fun as the
audience did. Whether they
were encouraging the crowd
to sing along, or watching
people two-stepping on the
dance floor, Johnny Action
Figure did what they could to
make sure that a good time
was had by all. It was good to

hear a band with a nice mel-
low rock sound that didn’t get
off on being super angsty,
and the range of moods that
the band was able to get
across to the audience was

very impressive. In all,
Johnny Action Figure suc-
ceeded in their mission to
take over Prince George with
their sound and personality.
And Prince George will never
forget the great wisdom of the
ages imparted by Johnny
Action Figure that night:
“Nothing says ‘condom’ like
meet me after the show”.
