With their incredible stage presence and_ distinctive sound, it is easy to see why people would want to see them more than once. Gilles and Allen of Johnny Action Figure get down at the Metro The four members of Johnny Action Figure started out two years ago, while they were members of various different bands in the Victoria area. . What started out as a side project quickly became a force to be reckoned with, as a recent show in Vancouver sparked the interest of Nettwerk. The band was recently found recording their first CD release at Rockettfish Studios in Prince George, which should be released some time before next Christmas. Johnny Action Figure deliv- ered an action-packed perfor- mance, and played a wide range of music, including cov- ers of Weezer, Radiohead, Chemical Brothers, Soft Cell, and some original material. Great sound combined with audience participation was the key to the show’s suc- cess, and the band seemed to have as much fun as the audience did. Whether they were encouraging the crowd to sing along, or watching people two-stepping on the dance floor, Johnny Action Figure did what they could to make sure that a good time was had by all. In all, Johnny Action Figure suc- ceeded in their mission to take over Prince George with their sound and personality. And Prince George will never forget the great wisdom of the ages imparted by Johnny Action Figure that night: “Nothing says ‘condom’ like meet me after the show”.
