CASSIAR, B.C. September 1968 During the past summer a great deal of enthusiasm was displayed in the local Fastball teams. Many turned out to watch the four teams, made up of players from Cassiar, Good Hope Lake and the summer students from the Cottonwood and Pyramid Department of Transport construction camps. A lot of fun was had by all during the season. In the semi finals Big Red eliminated the Black Hawks and Good Hope eliminated the Road Runners; Good Hope went on to defeat the Big Red Team in the finals and win the series in six games straight. In the series between Cassiar and Watson Lake, eight games were played, of which Cassiar won six. On August 17th and 18th, in Watson Lake, a tournament was held and our home team won 3 games and lost 3. This tournament was played between teams from Watson Lake, Fort Nelson and Cassiar. We had a good season and Fastball supporters are looking forward to a bigger and better season next year. It is now time to start thinking of Hockey again, and if everyone turns out to help on the arena construction, this coming season coffee can be sold right in the new Arena Lounge!
