Garden Report MR. J. MUNRO, Supervisor All boys have instruction in gardening as well as practical work. This training is of great _value to them on leaving school and it is our hope that they will put it to the test. The work has been satisfactory, and each has shown ability in some one phase of the work. It is thus extremely difficult to name any particular boy as being specially proficient as one may be good at cultivating, another at planting, etc. Nor can the juniors be omitted, as several look on the lowly, but extremely important task of weeding as their “forte,” and then the primary boys do extremely well on “Yards and Grounds.” Seniors deserving special mention: F. Williams; C. Stewart; V. Wells; P. Jack; M. Brown; C. Matthews. Juniors deserving of special mention: E. Dick; G. Williams; C. Parnell; W. Roberts; E. Pollard. Flower Gardens Life should be made up of both prose and poetry, the practical and the aesthetic, the necessities and the adornments and one realized this when contemplating Coqualeetza’s flower gardens during the summer and autumn. The space allotted was about an acre and the flowers were of many kinds and the grouping good, resulting in gorgeous effect. Many a passer-by stopped to look over the fence and many an eye glowed with delight. To Mr. Peake goes the credit of the sowing and planting and to Mr. Pirie our gratitude for caring for the gardens during the weeks Mr. Peake was in camp at Ocean Park with the pupils.
